  • Importance of appropriate chest compressions and respiratory support
  • Use of appropriate monitoring equipment
  • Review appropriate medications to have in the crash cart
  • Statistics and side effects of CPR in veterinary patients

  2. Determine which chest compression technique is appropriate
  3. Secure the airway and administer respiratory support
  4. Connect and interpret monitoring equipment
  5. Employ appropriate record-keeping throughout the event

Kim Adams, BS, RVT, LVT, LSHC-S, FFCP-Elite, is a RECOVER-certified instructor for Basic and Advanced Life Support.

Kim Adams is a credentialed veterinary technician licensed in multiple states, with 28 years of experience in the veterinary field. Her professional background is rooted primarily in emergency and critical care medicine, advanced anesthesia, and animal behavior. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with a minor in Holocaust and Genocide Studies from the University of Nevada, Reno, and currently resides in California.

She is deeply committed to compassionate, behavior-focused patient care. She is certified in Low Stress Handling (LSHC-S) and holds Fear Free Veterinary Elite certification. Kim works in clinical learning and development at Ethos Veterinary Health, helping veterinary professionals enhance their clinical skills and develop the necessary proficiencies to improve animal well-being.
